The Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) joined with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and community members to celebrate the grand opening of a new Jewel-Osco store in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood. The move comes after more than $410 million in investment over nearly a decade of redevelopment efforts that started with a modest rehab of the long-troubled former Grove Parc development, leading to the area’s first population growth in 50 years.

Quantum Real Estate Advisors, Inc. has brokered the sale of a multi-tenant retail building located at 28341-28361 Diehl Road in Warrenville, Illinois. The roughly 18,000-square-foot property sold for $5,367,000. At the time of the sale, the property was 93-percent leased to national and regional tenants including Starbucks, Potbelly, T-Mobile, Spotted Paw and Jazza Nails.

Lincoln Common confirms another retailer in Philz Coffee

Chicago’s second Philz Coffee location is headed to Lincoln Common, the mixed-use project co-developed by Hines and McCaffery Interests. Located in the city’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, the six-acre development recently announced Velvet Taco, Kohler Waters Spa, Equinox Fitness and Athletico Physical Therapy among the retail tenants. The latest outlet of the San Francisco-based coffee shop is expected to open Q3 2019.

Hines and McCaffery Brokerage welcome Athletico Physical Therapy as the newest tenant at Lincoln Common, a mixed-use development spanning over six acres in the heart of Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. The orthopedic rehabilitation provider has signed a lease for 4,377 square feet on the second floor of 2350 N. Lincoln Avenue, scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2019.

The 98-percent occupied property includes a roster of national retailers including Ross Dress for Less, TJ Maxx, Burlington Coat Factory, Petco and Price Chopper, which has been at this location for more than 30 years.
