Avanath pays $55 million for affordable housing portfolio

Avanath Capital Management, a private real estate investment manager and Registered Investment Adviser, has purchased three affordable housing communities with a combined 317 units in Chicago and Maryland. The assets, which bring the company’s total holdings in Chicago to 1,063 units, were acquired for a total of $55.05 million.

Mixed-use Uptown development receives financing

CEDARst Companies has secured financing for The Draper at 5050 N. Broadway, a mixed-use development project in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. The recent closing allows CEDARst to complete the first of two planned phases on the development. Total project costs for Phase I are estimated at $115,450,000; CEDARst raised $41 million of project equity.

CBRE team closes more than $52 million in financing in November

Joel Torborg and Ben Bastian of CBRE Minneapolis’s Debt and Structure Finance team arranged more than $52.3 million in SBL financing across 22 properties with 672 units in the month of November.
