Health and recreation center opens at Harper College

The reimagined Foglia Foundation Health and Recreation Center at Harper College has opened its doors after an extensive renovation. Mortenson led the $41 million modernization of the center as construction manager, working on plans by architect Cannon Design. Harper, Palatine Park District and Northwest Community Healthcare came together to reinvent the nearly 40-year-old building as a one-of-a-kind center promoting a holistic culture of wellness through a new model of academic, athletic and recreational opportunities and health services.

West Loop loft office building sells for $13 million

Marcus & Millichap announced the $13.1 million sale of a four-story, 30,620-square-foot loft office building located at 1027-1031 W. Madison St. in Chicago’s West Loop. At $436 per square foot, it is one of the highest prices paid on a per-square-foot basis for a multi-tenant loft office building in the neighborhood. The fully leased building is located one block south of McDonald’s new global headquarters, which opened in June.

Knoebel completes construction of craft brewery, restaurant in St. Louis

Construction is complete for the new $2 million HopCat restaurant and craft beer bar in the Delmar Loop in St. Louis, with Knoebel Construction serving as the general contractor. The new 8,580-square-foot location features seating for 245 guests, draft bar, an outdoor beer garden that seats 100 guests and event space. The developer was BarFly Ventures and the architect was Cuhaci & Peterson.
