The biggest office sale in Cleveland in the first quarter of the year came relatively late: Oaktree Capital Management’s $51.5 million purchase of PNC’s operations at 4100 W. 150th St. But while that transaction grabbed most of the headlines, it wasn’t the only big office sale of the first quarter here.

Three years ago, apartment renters would flock to any new apartment building rising in Cleveland, filling the units as soon as the multifamily development opened its doors. Today? It might take more time for these buildings to fill. But Gary Cooper, senior vice president and principal with the Cleveland office of Colliers International, said that this doesn’t mean that the city’s apartment market is in decline. It just means it’s stabilizing.

Custom furniture maker moving to new Ohio corporate offices

Crow Works, a furniture manufacturing company that manufactures all of its products in Ohio, is relocating its corporate offices from Columbus to downtown Johnstown, Ohio. The move from Columbus, where 40 employees across the engineering, marketing, sales, purchasing and finance teams operate, is set to happen at the end of this month, ushering in a new phase of growth for the company.

Courtyard by Marriott opening in Toledo

The new Courtyard by Marriott Toledo West is scheduled to open its doors in Toledo, Ohio, June 13. The new hotel, located at 3536 Secor Road, has 118 rooms and will operate as a Marriott franchise owned and managed by Key Hotel & Property Management of Toledo.

Colliers International has added Jeffery Kroeger to its roster as a brokerage associate in Colliers’ Cincinnati office. Kroeger will be joining the industrial team, working with Colliers veterans Bill Keefer and Chuck Ackerman. He previously served the Cincinnati office as a research intern while he attended the University of Cincinnati.

Third + Dayton mixed-use project moving ahead in Ohio

This summer, about 100 Miami University Hamilton students will move to the Third + Dayton project, a mixed-use redevelopment in downtown Hamilton, Ohio. The property owner, Industrial Realty Group, LLC (IRG), will renovate three floors of one of the former Ohio Casualty buildings into apartments. A portion will be used for international student housing.
