Rainier buys 308,000-square-foot power center in Kansas City market

Rainier Realty Investments LP acquired the 308,200-square-foot Truman’s Marketplace, a Class-A regional retail power center in the Kansas City, Missouri, MSA. The 98-percent occupied property includes a roster of national retailers including Ross Dress for Less, TJ Maxx, Burlington Coat Factory, Petco and Price Chopper, which has been at this location for more than 30 years.

The City of Belton, Missouri, has approved development plans for a 95-room Avid Hotel by Intercontinental Hotels Group. Located on the north side of 58 Highway just west of Markey Parkway, the four-story hotel is expected to be the first Avid concept to open in the Kansas City area.

NorthPoint Development has announced plans for a new 600-acre, 7-million-square-foot institutional quality industrial park in Pontoon Beach, Illinois, in the St. Louis market. Gateway TradePort will begin taking shape this March when crews break ground on the park’s lead building, Gateway TradePort 1, a 540,000-square-foot building set to deliver in early fourth quarter of this year.
