Lendlease hires Paul Turilli as senior development manager in Chicago office

Lendlease, a leading international property and infrastructure group, has appointed Paul J. Turilli to senior development manager in the firm’s Chicago office. In this role, Turilli will lead the execution and delivery of Southbank, Lendlease’s seven-acre neighborhood development along the South Branch of the Chicago River whose first residential tower, The Cooper at Southbank, opened in fall 2018.

“Paul’s successful track record of executing large-scale developments throughout Chicago is invaluable as we move forward with future phases of Southbank,” said Ted Weldon, the newly appointed executive general manager of development for Lendlease’s Chicago office. “With a resume boasting senior roles on many award-winning developments, including McDonald’s global headquarters in Fulton Market and CH Robinson’s Midwest headquarters in Lincoln Yards, Paul understands our core philosophy of urban regeneration and how those principles can best be applied at a prominent riverfront site like Southbank.”

Turilli joins Lendlease from Sterling Bay, where as vice president he focused on all aspects of development for the firm. He also previously held positions with Arcadis, Valenti Builders and Habitat for Humanity. At Lendlease, Turilli will oversee design and construction, financing and marketing efforts for Southbank, whose two-acre, publicly accessible green space, Southbank Park, and adjacent riverwalk opened this summer.

“Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work on many high-profile projects that, like Southbank, were transformative yet sensitive to the needs and design aesthetic of their respective neighborhoods,” said Turilli. “I look forward to leveraging that experience as a member of Lendlease’s integrated team as we continue the revitalization of this long-dormant site, bringing expanded housing options and public amenities to the greater South Loop community.”

Turilli holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
