Athens, Georgia-based student housing developer Landmark Properties recently started construction on 11 new student housing communities, including one at the University of Illinois. The cottage-style project is the company’s first in Illinois.
The Retreat at Urbana is a cottage-style community located less than a quarter-mile from the University of Illinois main campus. The project includes 126 homes totaling 476 beds across 2-, 3 and 4-bedroom floor plans.
All homes offer private bathrooms for each resident. In addition to detached cottages, the community will also include 10,260 square feet of shared amenity space featuring a clubhouse, resort-style swimming pool, fitness center, 24-hour study lounge, a corn hole area and more.
“We’re excited to continue to see strong demand for our student housing developments across the nation, and we look forward to welcoming more residents to their new homes in the coming years,” said Landmark Properties president and CEO Wes Rogers.
Ranked as the nation’s most active student housing developer and top student housing contractor, Landmark Properties owns and manages 64 student housing projects across the country, totaling more than 24,500 beds, and has over $2 billion in assets currently under construction. They manage more than 20 properties in the Midwest in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
