KTGY names Demetrios Stavrianos executive director, architecture

KTGY Architecture + Planning announced that Demetrios Stavrianos has joined the firm’s Chicago office as executive director, architecture. Stavrianos brings more than 32 years of professional experience in multifamily, mixed-use, retail and office design, as well as urban planning, to KTGY.

“We are excited to welcome Demetrios to our Chicago office,” said Craig Pryde, AIA, LEED AP, principal in the Chicago office of KTGY. “He has an extensive design background in residential, mixed-use and retail projects that is well-suited for KTGY, as well as a vast amount of experience in the Chicago market. He’s a strong design talent and a great fit for our studio.”

Stavrianos joined KTGY after spending 13 years at CallisonRTKL, where he served as senior associate vice president and was lead designer and residential studio director. Prior to that, Stavrianos was an associate with Pappageorge Haymes Partners for 12 years. He holds a bachelor of architecture degree in architectural design from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

“Demetrios has a reputation as an accomplished leader, and his primary role will be to direct the design team in the Chicago studio,” Pryde said. “His architectural design capabilities and experience building collaborative teams will be an asset to KTGY’s growing multifamily, residential and mixed-use portfolio.”

Stavrianos is a lifelong Chicagoan and currently lives in the suburb of Highland Park with his wife and three daughters.

“The quality of this firm’s work speaks for itself,” Stavrianos said. “Beyond the work itself, I look forward to becoming a part of KTGY’s unique culture.”
