An enthusiastic crowd of members, industry partners and special guests were on hand the evening of November 1, 2018 to participate in the swearing in ceremony of Kris Haskins, CPM, as the 2019 president of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Chicago chapter. Haskins was installed along with three other members of the 2019 IREM Chicago executive council.

The event coincided with the 65th anniversary celebration of IREM Chicago, in a ceremony conducted by Maleta J. Brown, CPM, the Region 9 vice president for IREM. Many other IREM Chicago past presidents were in attendance.

As the 2019 Chicago Chapter 23 president, Haskins will lead the executive council by promoting the chapter’s core initiatives through education, membership and overall advocacy for the organization. Specific goals for 2019 center on increasing membership and the number of professionals taking IREM education courses and promoting the value of IREM membership to younger professionals within commercial property management.

Haskins currently is a senior property manager at Colliers International in Rosemont, Illinois, where she concentrates on client service, tenant relations, budgeting, strategic planning, contract bidding, financial analysis, building operations and construction management. During her career, Haskins has managed office portfolios over 1 million square feet and industrial portfolios over 5 million square feet.

She has served as an executive council member at IREM Chicago since 2011. Nationally, Haskins has served on the IREM membership and credentialing committee, and currently serves on the IREM national ethics hearing and discipline board for the 2019 to 2021 period, and on the 2019 ethics committee. She also has held director roles with IREM Milwaukee and BOMA Milwaukee and is currently on the BOMA/Suburban Chicago industrial committee.

Haskins holds a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation issued through the Institute of Real Estate Management and is working towards her CCIM designation.
