Milwaukee-based Kahler Slater, a global architecture, interior design, strategic advisory and environmental branding firm, has hired Barbara Mellema as Project Leader – Healthcare. She is based in the company’s Milwaukee office.
Mellema has more than 23 years of progressive experience as a healthcare planner and project manager. Most recently she worked for GBBN Architects in Cincinnati. Prior to that, she was a senior associate at CannonDesign in Baltimore. Earlier in her career she was a planner, designer and manager for firms in Richmond, Virginia, and in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Notable past clients for Mellema include the University of Kentucky Medical Center, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Virginia Treatment Center for Children at VCU in Richmond, Polytrauma Neuroscience Center of Excellence at Virginia Area Medical Center in Richmond, and Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C.
