Some improvement in the I-55 Corridor

The Chicago metro industrial market remained strong last quarter. The 8.6 million square feet of new leasing activity during Q2 is the highest quarterly total since 2015 and the plummeting vacancy rate, which was down by an 23 basis points to 6.4 percent, is the lowest rate recorded since 2001.

Skender, serving as base building and interior construction manager, recently completed Woodlawn Station, a transit-oriented affordable housing development in Chicago. Located just under the Cottage Grove Green Line CTA terminus station in Chicago South Side neighborhood Woodlawn, the mixed-use development features a main building that contains 55 units and two additional nearby buildings containing 12 and 3 units respectively. SunTrust originates $10.6M acquisition bridge loan for condo deconversion in Chicago

SunTrust Banks, Inc. announced that Manny Brown, head of SunTrust Mortgage Banking and agency division production, and John Gordon, vice president in SunTrust CRE’s Chicago office, originated a $10.61 million bridge loan for the acquisition and condominium deconversion of Cambridge Commons in Chicago. The property is located in Edgewater, a popular lakefront community on the north side of Chicago.

CBRE Charity Bash at Wrigley Field raises $500,000

Cubs fans of all ages flocked to historic Wrigley Field for the 11th annual CBRE Charity Bash on Monday evening. Attendees got to rub elbows with Cub greats of the past and present, including Willson Contreras, Jon Lester, Kyle Schwarber, Joe Maddon, Andre Dawson and Ryne Sandberg at an event that raised funds for various charities.

Chicago's Kinzie Hotel refinances for $30.5 million

Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P. (HFF) announced the $30.5 million refinancing for Kinzie Hotel, a 215-room boutique hotel in the heart of Chicago’s River North neighborhood. The HFF team worked on behalf of the borrowers, Bixby Bridge Capital and Urbana Holdings, to place the three-year, floating-rate loan with two 12-month extension options with Annaly Commercial Real Estate Group, Inc.
