Heitman adds to product design capabilities with new hire

Heitman LLC, a global real estate investment management firm, has appointed Irene Yartey-Onyango as senior vice president, head of product strategy and design. In the newly created position, Yartey-Onyango will report to Lewis Ingall, Heitman senior managing director of client service and marketing, and will be responsible for developing and overseeing Heitman’s product design across the globe.

“We are pleased to welcome Irene to Heitman,” said Ingall. “Irene’s extensive experience in product strategy, design and development combined with our suite of real estate investment solutions in private equity, private debt and public securities, allows us to meet the growing demand for innovative ways to support larger exposure to property investments in client portfolios.”

Prior to joining Heitman, Yartey-Onyango held several roles across product management and strategy at Blackrock, most recently holding the title of director, alternatives product manager within the firm’s strategic product management group. Prior to Blackrock, she also held positions at Morgan Stanley, within its Equity Capital Markets group, and at J.P Morgan Asset Management, in a variety of analyst roles.

Yartey-Onyango is a CFA and CAIA charterholder. She graduated from Bates College with a bachelor of science in economics with a mathematics concentration and received an MBA from Northwestern University in finance and management and organizations. Yartey-Onyango also serves on the board of The Scholarship Academy, a preparatory program that teaches low-income applicants how to navigate the maze of financial aid in order to fund their higher education.
