Graycor Family of Companies, including Graycor Construction Company Inc., Graycor Industrial Constructors Inc. and Graycor Southern Inc., will participate in the Tough Mudder event to raise money for charity for the fourth consecutive year. The Chicago team will tackle the 10-12-mile obstacle course in Rockford, Illinois on Saturday, August 24, 2019, with the goal of raising $50,000 for the ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter.

“We are excited to accept Team Challenge ALS to take on Tough Mudder,” said Elsa Andrade, senior project manager and Graycor Tough Mudder team captain. “Graycor’s participation in the Tough Mudder aligns with our core values as an organization, allowing us to give back to our communities with the funds raised from the event. It’s also about teamwork, camaraderie and accomplishing something extraordinary. Graycor is honored to support the ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter and their efforts to find treatments and a cure for ALS, while also improving the quality of life for those living with the neurodegenerative disease.”

Graycor, headquartered in Chicago, will have more than 50 participants from across ten offices, from Boston to San Jose. The company has raised over $100,000 for charitable organizations since participating in its first Tough Mudder event, raising over $12,000 for Organization for Autism Research (OAR) in 2016, over $45,000 for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation in 2017 and over $46,000 for the American Brain Tumor Association in 2018.

Major corporate supporters like Graycor are helping us to advance our mission and truly make a difference in raising awareness for individuals living with ALS,” said Sarah Brandt, Run to Defeat ALS coordinator of the ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter.

The ALS Association is dedicated to leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. Every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS, and every 90 minutes someone loses their battle.
