Chicago-based integrated design and delivery firm Wight & Company added Ragan Pattison as director of its state and local government market. Most recently the Will County board chief of staff, Pattison also served as a member of the county’s board and commissioner of the county’s forest preserve.

“Wight & Company has worked with Ragan in the past in her role as chair of the Will County capital committee on a number of notable projects, including the Will County Courthouse in Joliet,” said Jason Dwyer, president of design and construction at Wight & Company. “We are fortunate to be able to bring to state and local government clients the depth of understanding Ragan offers from her experience in civic government and municipal projects.”

Pattison began her early civic career as an alderwoman for Wilmington, Illinois, and also worked for former state Representative Jerry Weller handling constituent concerns and legislative matters within the district. She also was the legislative liaison and ran the district office for former state Representative and minority deputy leader Brent Hassert.

“My career in government has shown me how important it is to work with trusted, innovative partners on the projects that impact constituents and revitalize communities,” said Pattison. “I’m excited to help more government committees and agencies engage with Wight & Company on projects that make a difference in their municipalities and communities.”

One of the first female graduates of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, Pattison earned her bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in American government. She attended Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, where she served on the school’s chapter of Habitat For Humanity, raising money and building new homes for Hurricane Katrina victims. Pattison also has had a successful career practicing criminal defense, family and governmental law.
