Cicero’s Development Corp. has completed the initial phase of rebranding the Holiday Inn Midway, situated a few blocks from Chicago’s Midway International Airport, to the DoubleTree by Hilton Midway. Work will now begin on the final phase of the multimillion-dollar project that will bring the DoubleTree hospitality experience to the Midway location’s lobby, restaurant, fitness center, outdoor patio and other public areas.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Midway is giving its public areas a fresh look with smarter technologies as part of an effort to keep up with ever-changing tastes. The new experience will be anchored by the hotel’s multi-use lobby, which will have space for travelers to comfortably work on a laptop, eat at the upgraded Market Grab and Go or print documents at the business center. Just off the lobby is the refreshed Coaches Bar and Grill, a popular sports hangout for travelers and locals to enjoy a craft brew and delicious food.
When the DoubleTree by Hilton Midway emerges from its top-to-bottom renovation in February 2020, it will mirror the brand’s high standards for guest comfort. This includes Cicero’s Development removing and replacing carpeting, wallcovering and lighting fixtures in the hotel’s public corridors, and installing new ceramic tiling, granite countertops and ADA-required fixtures in public restrooms. The fitness center will receive a fresh makeover, the interior pool deck will be resurfaced and the hotel will soon welcome attendees to a renovated ballroom and executive boardroom featuring updated paint, carpeting, furniture and audio-visual equipment.
Located a short drive away from Midway Airport and local attractions such as the Mignificant Mile, Museum of Science and Industry, and U.S. Cellular Field, the newly-renovated DoubleTree Midway Hotel will be an inviting choice for business and leisure travelers. The property is owned by The Weglarz Company, an Orland Park, Illinois-based commercial real estate development and investment firm.
