Ciena opens 120-bed seniors care facility in Michigan

Ciena Healthcare, a manager and operator of skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers in Michigan, celebrated the grand-opening of its newest center in Westland, Michigan. The 120-bed facility, Regency at Westland, at 2209 N. Newburgh Road, is a skilled nursing center with a licensed and certified team of professionals.

Dignitaries at the ribbon-cutting ceremony included Westland Mayor William Wild, Deputy Mayor Michael Reddy, representatives from the offices of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, U.S. Sen. Gary Peters and U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Westland City Council members Tasha Green, Michael Londeau and James Hart, Westland Parks and Recreation Director Kyle Mulligan and Westland Senior Resource Director Barbara Marcum.

Regency at Westland, a 76,225 square-foot facility, is the 11th Ciena Healthcare center in Wayne County and 39th location in Michigan. Built at a cost of $16.5 million, Regency at Westland will employ more than 200 people in both full-time and part-time positions.

Regency at Westland includes 50 private suites and 22 semi-private suites with individual showers. All suites are barrier-free and have private bathrooms. Amenities include 4 dining rooms, comfortable lounges for families and guests, activities, a café, library, and full-service spa. Additionally, the entire facility is backed up by emergency power.
