Quaker Distributing, with the assistance of CBRE, has signed a 60-month lease at a distribution facility near Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus, Ohio.

The construction of this property was recently completed by The Pizzuti Companies. Quaker has agreed to lease the 800,000-square-foot Class-A industrial distribution facility at 1901 Beggrow St. in Columbus. The CBRE team of Michael Mullady, Jeff Lyons, Matthew Lehman and Joseph Kimener brokered the deal.

On April 1, Quaker Distributing is scheduled to relocate from its current 700,000-square-foot distribution facility into Rickenbacker West I. This move will put the company in a new building that optimizes operational efficiency while keeping it within the same Columbus Southeast Industrial Submarket.

The main driver for this move is Quaker’s need to be in a larger, modern building with Class-A amenities that can accommodate future growth. Rickenbacker West I is now completing the tenant’s fit-out within the state-of-the-art distribution center.

The building features precast concrete panel construction, 48 dock doors in a cross-dock configuration, 36-foot warehouse clear height, energy efficient LED lighting, parking for 300 trailers and 218 cars. This building can be expanded to 1-million-square-feet to accommodate future growth and has 15-year, 100 percent real estate tax abatement.
