Berkadia adds managing director to Milwaukee office

James Boris has joined the Milwaukee mortgage banking team of Berkadia as managing director. In this role, Boris will focus on originating HUD-insured financing for seniors housing and multifamily apartments. He will report to senior managing director Mark Dellonte.

Boris is the most recent addition to Berkadia’s newly established Milwaukee office. Senior managing director Mark Dellonte and director of operations Amy Barry launched the office in May of 2019. Senior analyst Bill O’Connor joined the team in July of this year.

Boris has successfully arranged more than $800 million in FHA-insured and related conventional healthcare and multifamily financings for both for-profit and not-for-profit borrowers, representing more than 15,000 units located throughout the U.S. He has also developed, financed, owned, operated and sold numerous seniors housing and assisted living and memory care communities. He has worked in partnership with multiple real estate development and investment companies as well as independently.

Boris previously served as founder and CEO of American Mortgage Solutions, LLC, originating and funding FHA-insured loans nationwide and as Vice President–FHA Lending for Arbor Commercial Mortgage, LLC, where he supervised Arbor’s national FHA multifamily apartment and healthcare financing division. Prior to that he was, Vice President and Manager–Insured Loans at GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corporation, where he specialized in arranging and closing FHA-insured financing throughout the U.S.
