Mars Food opens headquarters in Chicago

Mars Food opened a headquarters in Chicago’s Goose Island neighborhood, bringing 75 jobs to the city, according to the mayor’s office.

The new office will be the fourth for the company on Goose Island. The relocation from Los Angeles to Chicago comes at a time of growth for the company, according to the statement. The company’s portfolio includes Uncle Ben’s and Seeds of Change.

The new office occupies the first floor of a building originally built in 1905 and is designed to reflect health, wellness and sustainability. Standing desks and treadmill desks are available at every workstation. A living wall boosts air quality, motion-activated LED desk lamps and lighting reduce energy by 45 percent. A full kitchen also encourages eating and cooking healthy meals together, according to the statement.
