JLL has made a big change at the top, naming Christian Ulbrich as the company's new chief executive officer. He will take over the position on Oct. 1.

Colin Dyer, the current chief executive officer, will retire at the end of 2016.

Ulbrich first joined JLL in 2005, taking the role of managing director for JLL Germany. In 2009, he was named chief executive officer of JLL's EMEA group. In June of this year, Ulbrich was named president of JLL.

Dyer has enjoyed plenty of success at the head of JLL. Since 2004, JLL has seen its revenue grow more than five times to $6 billion. JLL has also since this time closed 80 acquisitions and added more than 100 offices. The company has also added 30 countries to its reach.

"Working closely with Christian since he joined JLL, I know firsthand his deep understanding of global real estate dynamics and ability to lead across wide and diverse geographies,” Dyer said in a statement. “With his guidance and our strong management team, JLL will continue to grow and prosper.”
