Wight & Company promotes two to senior vice president positions

Wight & Company announced the promotion of  James Mark, Jr. and Brad Paulsen to senior vice president positions.

James Mark Jr. has been named senior vice president from vice president and will continue in his role as managing director for the Chicago office. As a licensed architect, he oversees the operations, business development and the overall success for projects executed by Wight & Company Chicago’s design, engineering and construction teams for public/institutional, K-12 education, higher education and  private markets, the latter of which includes corporate, commercial and industrial clients.

He also leads Wight & Company’s new strategic Design & Delivery initiative, which combines the expertise of the firm’s designers, engineers and construction professionals, creating an interdisciplinary delivery model. Mark earned his Bachelor of Architecture with honors from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He currently serves on the Morton Arboretum Educational Advisory Committee, the board of directors for the Friends of the Chicago River, and as the Chairman of the Board for the Chinese American Service League.

Brad Paulsen has been named senior vice president, strategy and development, and will continue in his role as PK-12 Education Practice Leader. He joined Wight & Company in 2000 and has played an instrumental role in the growth of the firm. Previously vice president of business development, Paulsen is closely involved in Wight & Company’s major PK-12 projects and capital improvement programs.

Paulsen is also responsible for developing the firm’s higher education, government and corporate practices. He's  an active member of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) and serves on the Board of Education for Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture and Master of Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
