Dennis DeSantis knows the St. Louis real estate market. This isn't surprising; he's built a thriving commercial real estate career here, one that's lasted more than 37 years.

Today, DeSantis serves as managing director of Cushman & Wakefield-affiliated Gateway Commercial in St. Louis. Here, he's continued his role as a local real estate expert, one who not only provides top service to his many clients, but who is also often called to provide expert witness testimony on real estate matters for many of the law firms practicing in St. Louis.

DeSantis' reputation is no secret among his peers, who have provided him during his career with many of the commercial real estate industry's top awards. In 2007, he was named member of the year for the St. Louis chapter of SIOR. And in 2010, he earned recognition from the national SIOR for closing the largest cooperative office transaction by volume.

Closing big deals is not unusual for DeSantis. The St. Louis chapter of the SIOR has honored him for closing the largest intra-city transaction in St. Louis seven years since 1996.

Notching such big deals, of course, doesn’t just happen. DeSantis brings the perfect blend of market knowledge, integrity and negotiating skills to his business. This combination regularly provides his clients with the best deal possible at the best prices possible.  It’s also created intense loyalty among DeSantis’ clients. It’s why he’s worked with so many of his clients for decades.

It’s this customer loyalty that is the true secret to success in today’s competitive commercial real estate market. No one would argue that this hasn’t been a tough time for commercial real estate professionals. But even in this challenging time, DeSantis has kept his business steady. He’s also provided the example that the commercial professionals at Gateway Commercial need to keep their own business steady during the economic downturn.

DeSantis' reputation has helped him land some of the biggest names in business on his client list. This list includes such companies as Ernst & Young, Pfizer, GMAC, Western Union, Guardian Life Insurance Company, Magellan Health Services and Pharmacia Corporation.
