Heitman hires new senior vice president for capital markets in Chicago office

Heitman LLC, a global real estate investment management firm, recently appointed David Maki as senior vice president for North American Capital Markets. Maki will work out of the company's Chicago office.

In this new position, Maki will be responsible for managing the firm’s North American debt financings for new acquisitions as well as the financing on its existing portfolio of apartments, hotels, industrial, land, office, self-storage, senior housing, student housing and retail assets.  His responsibilities will include advising on the placement of property and portfolio-level financing as well as implementing hedging strategies.

With almost 25 years of real estate market experience, Maki was most recently employed as head of North American Capital Markets at RREEF Alternative Investments, a division of Deutsche Asset Management.   Previously, he was the national head of real estate mezzanine finance for LaSalle Bank Corporation and served the Real Estate Merchant Banking group of Wells Fargo Bank as managing director for 10 years.
