Alatus set to move forward with luxury residential tower in Minneapolis

After recently clearing all legal hurdles, local developer Alatus, LLC will move forward with construction of its planned 40-story luxury residential tower at 200 Central Ave. SE in Minneapolis.

On August 7, the Minnesota Supreme Court denied the petition filed by the Neighbors of East Bank Livability (NEBL). The case had been sent to the state’s Supreme Court after it was denied by the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

“We are delighted to begin construction on this project, which is fully approved by the City of Minneapolis, and we look forward to announcing the name of the development on October 4,” said Bob Lux, founder and principal at Alatus, in a statement.

200 Central is a 40-story luxury residential tower located in the historic St. Anthony Falls neighborhood, one block northeast of the Mississippi River and less than a mile from downtown Minneapolis. The project includes 214 condominiums with underground private resident parking. Dining and retail will be located on the ground floor of the development.

The building’s design includes a point tower comprised largely of glass and set back on a four-story limestone podium. The concept includes large floor plans constructed with best-in-class finishes and expansive private semi-enclosed outdoor living spaces. Each residence will have views of the downtown Minneapolis skyline, Mississippi River or Northeast Minneapolis.

An array of amenities is planned, including full concierge services, a high-end community room, pool deck, fitness center, wine and bike storage, pet amenities and more. Several of the top-floor units will include partially heated terraces, some with small private pools and whirlpools.
