The Opus Group appoints Michael Robinson as senior director, real estate development

The Opus Group announced that Michael Robinson joined Opus Development Company, L.L.C. as senior director, real estate development. Tasked with pursuing new industrial developments, Robinson’s focus is on the greater Chicago region, including Milwaukee and northwest Indiana.

“We are excited to have Mike join our team,” said Mike Yungerman, vice president, general manager, Opus Development Company, L.L.C. “With more than 20 years of experience in industrial real estate, Michael is a valuable asset as we continue to grow Opus’ presence in the broader Chicago market.”

In his new role with Opus, Robinson leads the development team in sourcing and pursuing new industrial opportunities across the region and is responsible for leasing projects such as Rock Creek Logistics Center and disposition of the buildings. Robinson’s expertise in the industrial sector includes developing and acquiring more than 15 million square feet and leasing more than 20 million square feet of space.

“I look forward to identifying solutions for our clients and growing the company’s industrial portfolio in the Chicago market,” Robinson said.

Prior to joining Opus, Robinson served as the vice president of DCT Industrial where he leased and managed the Chicago market portfolio. Additionally, he worked as a vice president for CenterPoint Properties with a focus on accounting, finance, leasing and acquisitions.

Robinson received his bachelor of science in accounting from Illinois State University and is a certified public accountant. He earned his master of business administration in international business from Marquette University. Robinson is also a member of the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers (AIRE) as well as NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association.
