by Illinois Real Estate Journal ReportsTom Silva has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing and strategy of The Alter Group. His responsibilities include all strategic planning and marketing activities for The Alter Group and all of its affiliates, including the firm's 17 million square feet of business parks and build-to-suit projects nationwide. Silva was the recipient of the CoreNet Global Chicago Chapter's inaugural Michael Kaczmareck Leadership Award. Additionally, Silva and his marketing team have won numerous awards for The Alter Group's marketing programs and collateral materials. These include two Silver Trumpet Awards from the Publicity Club of Chicago; the 2002 Silver AiME Award; Gold Winner in the 24th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards; six The Communicator Awards from the International Academy of the Visual Arts; three Silver International Davey Design Awards; Gold Award in the Summit International Awards - Creative Awards 2008; three Silver Awards in the Summit International Awards - Creative Awards 2008; two Bronze Awards in the Summit International Awards - Creative Awards 2008; a Web Marketing Association's WebAward; and a W3 Awards from the International Academy of the Visual Arts 2009. Silva previously was communications director for PM Realty Group, a national full-service commercial real estate firm based in Houston. Prior to this, he served as an account executive with Aria Public Relations in Chicago, where he headed a variety of regional accounts. Silva joined The Alter Group as Communications Director in 1996. Silva graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in marketing from Long Island University in New York in 1988. More Articles
