Meridian Design Build contracted for medical build-out

Meridian Design Build has been selected by MedProperties Group to construct 3,200 square feet of medical office space at the recently completed Lockport Crossings Medical Center in Lockport, Ill.

Meridian was selected to provide construction services for the 3rd floor doctor suites from a group of six firms invited to bid on the project. The new space is being constructed to accommodate a timesharing concept that will provide doctors with practices outside of Lockport an opportunity to see patients in the area while taking advantage of shared office space and other resources.

Scheduled for a fast-track completion in late February of this year, the build-out will include 10 exam rooms, private restrooms, shared waiting/reception areas, and lockable file storage. Bob Kolcz, project manager and Jim Cather, senior superintendent are coordinating efforts on the project for Meridian Design Build. The base building architect, Arete 3 Ltd., is providing design services.

Lockport Crossings Medical Center is a new 54,000 SF medical office building developed by MedProperties near the I-355 interchange at 159th street in Lockport. Advocate Health Care, the largest health care provider in Illinois, already occupies a significant amount of space within the building.
