Martell Biosystems, an early stage diagnostics company in the field of breast cancer research, plans on establishing a 4,500-square-foot laboratory in Minnesota BioBusiness Center's second floor, based in Rochester, Minn.

Martell has not yet completed a final lease for the building, which also includes two other tenants - Mayo Health Solutions and Kardia Health Systems - both of which are affiliated with the Mayo Clinic.

Martell, founded last year, utilizes a revolutionary blood test to detect cancer and is seeking FDA approval for the test. Martell expects the FDA to give a thumbs-up to the test within the year and sees the market growing to $600 million by 2014.
