by Jim BrubakerMinnesotaGround is being broken this week in northern Minnesota on a new $45 million scientific facility to aid research into the formation of the universe. The NUMI Off-Axis Electron Neutrino Appearance detector facility, or NoVa for short, is a joint collaboration between the University of Minnesota and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. The University and the U.S. Department of Energy are jointly supporting the construction, which is being built with a stimulus package providing $40 million in funding. The project is expected to generate as many as 80 jobs in the area over the next two years. More Articles
