by Mike Moran
Minnesota

The city of Waite Park was given a $1.3 million grant by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development to help redevelop a 17.5-acre residential site.

The site currently contains 38 single-family homes but, after redevelopment, will have 273 housing units and 86,000 square feet of commercial space.

Redevelopment on the site will create as many as 66 new jobs, retain 50 jobs and increase the tax base by $427,800.
