Brooklyn Park, Minn., Embassy Suites Hotel set to open

by Mike Moran
Minnesota

Brooklyn Center, Minn., will see the opening a new 175-room Embassy Suites Hotel this month, the second in the nation to feature a new less expensive, environmentally friendly design.

The new Embassy Suites Hotel, owned by Brooklyn Hotel Partners, is the first new hotel for Brooklyn Center in roughly a decade. It will connect to the Earle Brown Conference Center and be managed by the Oliver Cos. of Duluth.

The new design allows the hotel to be built on 2.8 acres of land rather than the 4.1 acres needed by the traditional design. In addition, the design saves about 14-percent on construction costs versus the traditional design.
