Rainbow Foods announced for The West End development

Duke Realty's $400 million, 2.2-million-square-foot mixed-use "The West End" project has added a 56,000-square-foot Rainbow Foods grocery store to its plans.

Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc., based in Milwaukee, will make the Rainbow Foods, focusing on fresh foods and organic products, their flagship property in the city.

The West End will include a 350,000-square-foot lifestyle retail center and approximately 30,000 square feet of office space in its first phase. The Shops at West end will include restaurants, a 14-screen movie theater, fashion boutiques and the newly announced Rainbow Foods. The completion date for the project, started in April 2008, is expected to be September 2009.

Subsequent phases for The West End will add 1.1 million square feet of Class A office space and a hotel.
