Parker Design International celebrates 50 years

The Minneapolis-based Parker Design International, founded by Leonard Parker, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Leonard Parker started Leonard Parker Associates at 35 after leaving his position as senior designer and project manager at the practice of Eero Saarinen.

The firm's building designs over the years include the Minnesota Judicial Center on the State Capitol Mall, the Minneapolis Convention Center, six projects for the University of Minnesota including Walter F. Mondale School of Law and the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts/Children's Theater Company/Minneapolis College of Art & Design.

Leonard Parker Associates became Parker Design International in 2006 under the leadership of chairman and CEO Stephan S. Huh who has been with Leonard Parker since 1972.
