The Association of Women Contractors has named a new executive director

Barb Lau Christensen has been hired as the new executive director for the Association of Women Contractors in St. Paul, Minn. Ms. Christensen will work full time in the AWC's newly leased office space at 867 Pierce Butler Route in St. Paul.

Ms. Christensen has worked at Perkins+Will, CSM Lodging and DPRA Inc. She most recently managed Chocolat Celeste in St. Paul and will bring her industry marketing and business experience to the AWC.

"Running a successful association is like a small business, you need to be comfortable wear many hats. I look forward to working with the board, the members, and the community stakeholders to represent the AWC," Ms. Christensen said.

The Association of Women Contractors began in 1995. This marks the fist time the association has had a full time executive director and and a standalone physical address.
