by Jim BrubakerMinneapolis-St. Paul | | A rendering of 500 Jackson Street | Interstate Partners, LLC, will be moving its headquarters to downtown St. Paul at the end of the year. The progressive developer of upscale business parks will move into two buildings that are being renovated and combined into one. "Though we have major projects underway in several area communities, operating from this central location in St. Paul will give us the benefits of an urban business center while still offering easy access to our projects via the interstates," Greg Miller, the president of Interstate Partners, said. "We're also excited about the transformation of these buildings and the style and amenities that we are creating for our new home office." The buildings, located at Jackson and Ninth, will now be known as 500 Jackson St. As part of the renovation, an outdoor rooftop garden and patio will be added as well as a second story overlook of the street below. There are arched trellises planned for decorative frames and extensive plantings will be used to add a relaxing atmosphere. "The design was aimed at giving the two buildings a cohesive look and to underline their historical integrity with other buildings of their time period," Kim Horton, account director for Shea, Inc., the architecture and design firm that created the plan, said. "By adding warm brick and arched windows with mullions, we achieved this classic feel, but we complemented it with clean, sophisticated entrance canopies for a contemporary touch." Inside of the new 12,000-square-foot 500 Jackson St., new lighting, HVAC, plumbing and electric systems will be installed. R.J. Ryan Construction, Inc., is the contractor for the project which is still under construction. More Articles
