Dominium Development and Acquisition, LLC has announced the completion of its nine-month, $4.5 million renovation of Hillside Park Apartments in Sioux City, Iowa.

"The renovations encompassed all aspects of the property," said Mark Moorhouse, project partner, Dominium Development & Acquisition, LLC.

A portion of the renovation also included the construction of the more then 2,000 square-foot community building.

"This new facility is home to a community kitchen, dining room, community space, sitting area and computer lab, and also will house the property manager and service coordinator offices," said Moorhouse.

Each unit has been upgraded, including new kitchen cabinets, new appliances, new carpet, new air conditioning units, new windows, new bathroom fixtures, new doors and new light fixtures. Roughly $40,000 was spent per unit to bring them to like-new condition.

"The Iowa Finance Authority, the Iowa Department of Economic Development, Dougherty and Company and the city of Sioux City were instrumental in making this project a success. It is important for individuals to have an affordable place to live that is a valued part of the community," said Moorhouse.
