Planned community announced for Hinckley, Minn.

Grindstone River Plaza, LLC, has announced plans for a $150 million, 200-acre master planned regional destination marketplace located between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Duluth in the city of Hinckley.

Grindstone River Plaza will feature retail, office, residential, commercial and mix-used property types. The site has over 5,700 feet of road frontage on Highway 48, across from the Grand Casino Hinckley, which has an estimated 2.5 million visitors annually.

Retail, dining and entertainment components are planned for what is being called a "lifestyle destination center." Later phases for Grindstone River Plaza, intended to draw visitors from both nearby metro areas, include a planned hotel with a 40,000-square-foot waterpark.
