Metro Commercial Real Estate has brokered ten new locations for The EDGE Fitness Clubs in the Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis and Philadelphia markets. The leasing team from Metro was led by senior vice president Brandon Anapol and vice president Scott Benson. Metro is the exclusive regional broker for The EDGE Fitness Clubs throughout the Midwestern and Mid-Atlantic United States.
With these new leases, Metro has brokered 16 locations totaling approximately 640,000 square feet over the last 12 months for The EDGE Fitness Clubs in support of the company’s strategic plan to expand beyond its Connecticut roots.
“We are thrilled for the opportunity to continue our exclusive regional partnership with The EDGE Fitness Clubs and identity new, untapped markets for the brand’s aggressive expansion,” said Benson. “Leveraging our team’s extensive knowledge of the Philadelphia area and working closely with experienced brokers in the additional markets, we choose the most competitive locations in highly-trafficked areas. We are confident that local residents will benefit from The Edge Fitness Clubs’ top-notch amenities and best-in-class offerings.”
The Midwest locations include one Illinois property—a 49,994-square-foot location in Naperville at the Westridge Court. There were two St. Louis-area locations—a 37,062-square-foot location in Shrewsbury, Missouri at the Mackenzie Point and a 40,418-square-foot location at the Cave Springs Shopping Center in St. Peters, Missouri. All three properties are slated to open in 2020.
Additionally, there are four locations in Michigan. Slated to open this year are a 37,000-square-foot location at the West River Centre in Farmington Hills, a 40,957-square-foot location at the Avon Road & Rochester Road in Rochester Hills and a 37,800-square-foot location at The Crossing at Westland in Westland. A 36,676-square-foot location in Sterling Heights at Windmill Plaza is slated to open in 2020.
