McCarthy associate wins top honor from Kansas City construction group

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.’s Justin Waters, an assistant project manager, is the recipient of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Subcontractor Association’s 2017 Project Manager of the Year Award.

KCASA is a non-profit trade association focused on advocacy, leadership, networking and education for construction subcontractors and suppliers. The award was presented during KCASA’s Industry Awards on June 21.

Waters joined St. Louis-based McCarthy in early 2016 and has more than 10 years project management experience. He received a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Northern Iowa in 2007.

Waters has worked on several projects for Saint Luke’s Hospital, including a $1.38 million project to relocate/consolidate the UroGynecology and Sleep Lab at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City; the $2.5 million, 6,000-square-foot renovation of the Breast Center Suite at Saint Luke’s East Hospital; and the $280,000 Saint Luke’s East CV Suite Remodel and CT Replacement.
