Minneapolis attorney earns key role in developing sustainable community

by Midwest Real Estate News Reports
David Sellergren, an attorney with Minneapolis-based Fredrikson & Byron, recently earned appointment by the University of Minnesota Board of Regents to serve as a member of the Board of Governors for the UMore Development Limited Liability Company (LLC).

The Board of Governors will provide oversight and management of the planning and development of the university's 5,000-acre property in Dakota County.

The vision for UMore Park is to create a sustainable community for 20,000 to 30,000 people during the next 25 to 30 years. The plan for this new, sustainable community integrates environmental, socio-cultural and economic opportunities with a specific focus on innovations in renewable energy, education and lifelong learning, health and wellness, the natural environment and regional economic development.

"I'm very pleased to be part of this exciting project," said Sellergren, who was appointed to the Board on Dec. 11. "This is a wonderful opportunity to work with University of Minnesota staff and other members of the UMore Board of Governors to build a model for future communities."

Sellergren has practiced in the areas of real estate and environmental law for the past 37 years. He has extensive knowledge of land use and development, environmental law, development financing, housing and redevelopment, state and local government law, and real estate transactions.
