Home / Markets / Falor to retire from Colliers' Columbus office
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2008
by Drew SmithStephen Falor, managing principal and founder of Colliers Turley Martin Tucker's Columbus, Ohio office, has announced he will retire in April 2009. Falor made the announcement almost three years to the day when he opened the office in Nov. 2005. "When I first decided to join CTMT and open the Columbus office, I expected it would take at least five years to get where we are today," Falor said. "I made a commitment to CTMT and to those who joined me to get the office well-established as a leading player in Columbus. We achieved this ahead of schedule, which made my decision to move on much easier. New blood also will further ensure the continued success of the Columbus office" Falor established Collier's third Ohio office and grew it to 44 associates, including 36 licensed professionals. It has become the third largest commercial real estate firm in the Columbus market. He began his real estate career in 1978 when he joined Pickett Cos. He became a member of CB Richard Ellis in 1983 and then left in 1992 to serve as the president of Carey/Falor Realty Partners. "I love what I do. I love the company and the people," Falor said. "Columbus is a great community, too. We don't see the booms but we don't see the busts, either. It's a great place to build a career and raise a family." Falor plans to move to northeastern Florida where he expects to remain active in a yet-to-be-determined business.
