Sand Cos., Inc., names new CEO and president

Sand Cos., Inc., a construction, property management and development company based in Waite Park, Minn., has announced Jamie Thelen as the company's new CEO.

Thelen, making the transition from SCI president, will steer the company in strategic planning, visioning, development and oversight of new business development. Replacing Thelen as president will be Mike Wendel, who has been with SCI since 2007.

"I'm very proud to lead such a strong company into the future," Thelen said. "Sand Cos, will continue to focus on thorough planning, innovation, and the highest quality service to its properties and developments."

Founder Leo M. Sand is stepping down as CEO but will remain chairman, providing leadership in the asset management and strategic business investment areas.

"Sand Cos. is poised for continued growth," Leo Sand said. "I look forward to the energy this new leadership team brings, and a continuation of the vision that has made this organization so successful over the past 17 years."
