Kraus-Anderson will soon begin construction at Mounds View High School at 1900 Lake Valentine Road in Arden Hills, Minnesota. Backed by a $165 million bond issue, Mounds View High School is the second phase of a three-phase, district-wide project for Mounds View Public Schools that includes 12 school buildings.
Earlier this month, KA began construction on a $24.7 million expansion at Irondale High School, part of the overall district project.
Designed by Wold Architects and Engineers, Mounds View High School will feature a new 10,000-square-foot, two-story classroom building; and 15,000-square-foot, three-story classroom addition. The 140,675-square-foot project also adds a 35,000-square-foot, four-station fieldhouse with elevated track.
Renovations also will be made to the commons area, locker rooms, kitchen and various classrooms; and will convert the existing gymnasium into a new fitness center. Crews also will replace all mechanical units and reorient the staff and bus parking.
Most of the components of the projects are expected to be completed by the fall of 2020.
