J.D. Salazar repositions Champion Realty Advisors

J.D. Salazar, a leader in Chicagoland commercial real estate community for more than 30 years, has re-launched Champion Realty Advisors with a new initiative. This new venture focuses on acquiring industrial properties related to transportation and outdoor storage, on behalf of high net worth individuals and family offices.

“Essentially, I am repositioning Champion Realty Advisors to focus on investment opportunities in outdoor storage and transportation-related real estate in major consumption zones and transportation centers around the country,” said Salazar.

Salazar is the CEO of Champion Realty Advisors, an entity he created in 1997 as an industrial and office brokerage company. For much of his career he served in key positions at Paine/Wetzel, one of Chicago’s top industrial real estate firms.

In November 2016, Salazar co-founded Industrial Outdoor Ventures (IOV) with Tom Barbera and Joe Voet, serving as COO with a seat on the investment committee and the board of directors. IOV’s focus is on acquiring transportation-related properties and outdoor storage properties around the country, and by May 2018 had purchased nine properties in Atlanta, Chicago, Ft. Worth, Houston and Denver. Salazar transitioned out of IOV in order to work on growing his family’s real estate holdings through joint ventures and partnerships with family offices and high net worth individuals.
