HED hires two business development managers in Chicago

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) has hired two business development managers in the Chicago office. Chris Jann will serve HED’s diverse range of higher education clients while Patrick Slattery will serve workplace clients in Chicago.

With over 25 years of experience in architecture, design, and construction, Jann focuses his efforts on understanding the challenges colleges and universities are faced with when developing and maintaining their facilities. He has extensive knowledge of the nuances and related technologies of specific building types and how those affect the design and construction of a successful project.

Jann has participated in hundreds of successful college and university projects in almost every state in the country, and prior to joining HED, he owned and operated the market research and business development firm Jann Group, which he passed on to his son. Prior to running Jann Group, Chris held leadership roles in a number of firms including as the director of project research with Ellerbe Becket in Minneapolis, now part of AECOM.

Slattery has over a decade of experience in architecture and design across multiple disciplines including, workplace, hospitality, mixed-use, retail healthcare programs, as well as extensive experience within the real estate development industry and international markets serving clients such as Equity Commonwealth, Northwestern Memorial, PIRHL Development, JP Morgan Chase and Palmer House Chicago, among others.

Prior to joining HED, Slattery stewarded workplace and tenant improvement pursuits across the U.S. and Canada as a senior project manager for CBRE – Global Workplace Solutions. Dedicated to design as an evolving, lifetime pursuit, he also gives back to the profession by serving as an adjunct professor of architecture and design at Robert Morris University.
