Graycor Construction hires John Bunce as new construction manager

John Bunce has joined Graycor Construction Company as a construction manager. Bunce brings more than 34 years of design-build industry experience to the Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois-based firm. In his role, he will focus on supporting Graycor’s continued growth in the national industrial buildings market.

“Over the past several years our revenue has grown substantially in the industrial market. We couldn’t be more pleased to have John join our team to support this growth,” says David Wing, president of Graycor Construction. “John has overseen the construction of more than 12 million square feet of industrial buildings across the country. His knowledge, experience and technical expertise will help Graycor better serve our current and prospective clients.”

Bunce joins Graycor from Clayco, where he began as a project superintendent in 1998 and most recently served as a project director. Prior to joining Clayco, Bunce worked at Osman Construction Corporation, and at his own firm, Bunce Construction. Some of the projects he has managed include the Amazon MDW7 distribution center (2.4 million square feet) in Monee, Illinois; Coleman distribution center (1.1 million SF) in Gardner, Kansas; Caterpillar DC4 distribution center (490,000 SF) in Tejon Ranch, California; Caterpillar DC3 distribution center (540,000 SF) in Spokane, Washington; 3M DK6 distribution center (980,000 SF) in DeKalb, Illinois and Clorox regional distribution center (1.3 million SF) in University Park, Illinois.

Bunce holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame. He is on the board of directors of the Chicago Building Congress and is a LEED AP BD+C accredited professional.
