Gary Rose named managing director at Clear Height Properties

Clear Height Properties has announced the appointment of Gary Rose as managing director, asset management and acquisitions. With over 15 years of experience, Rose has a strong track record leading the acquisition and long-term asset and portfolio management strategies for office, retail, multifamily, hospitality, parking and infrastructure properties for well-known investment and management firms.

This addition of Rose aligns with Clear Height’s long-term goals to continue building and strengthening its position in Chicago and across the country as an industry leader in the acquisition and management of investment grade assets.

“As we seek to be even more active in acquiring assets, Gary’s investment and management experience will be essential to our team,” said Joe M. Sergi, chief operations officer of Clear Height Properties. “Gary will be a leader in the areas of sourcing and evaluating new acquisition opportunities, developing strategies and maximizing value for our clients.”

Prior to joining Clear Height Properties, Rose oversaw asset management, disposition and acquisition efforts for Equity Group Investments, where he focused on a portfolio of private real estate investments controlled by Sam Zell. He also previously worked as vice president of asset management at Ares Management, where he managed a diverse portfolio of domestic equity and debt real estate investments. In that role, he developed and executed value-add business plans.

Rose was involved in the ongoing management and positioning of several signature properties including Two North Riverside Plaza, home of Equity Group Investment’s headquarters, and Cobbler Square Lofts at 1350 N. Wells Street in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. He also oversaw the development and operating strategy for Cross Border Xpress, a privately funded border crossing terminal in San Diego that connects via bridge to the Tijuana International Airport in Mexico.

“Clear Height has a solid reputation in the acquisition and management of industrial and office properties, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to help the team continue their growth and success,” Rose said. “I’m looking forward to working with Clear Height in its collaborative team environment.”

Earlier in his career, Rose worked at Wrightwood Capital and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a masters of accounting from the University of Michigan Business School and a BBA from the University of Michigan Business School. He is a licensed managing broker in the State of Illinois and a certified public accountant.
