Englewood Construction, a leading commercial construction firm that specializes in retail, restaurant, hotel, education and office/industrial projects, has hired Casey Urlacher to join the company’s business development team. Bill Di Santo, president of the Lemont, Illinois-based general contractor, made the announcement.
“As we continue to pursue new client relationships across a variety of commercial real estate sectors, Casey brings a unique set of contacts to the table with his background at the intersection of sports, business and hospitality as well as his involvement in local government,” said Di Santo. “We’re incredibly excited to add him to the Englewood team and identify synergies between his network and our firm’s expertise. Growing a business often entails thinking creatively about where and how to mine opportunities, and we believe Casey will open up new doors that will be very fruitful.”
Urlacher is the current mayor of the Village of Mettawa, Illinois, a role he will continue to hold in tandem with his new position with Englewood Construction. The brother of NFL Hall of Famer and former Chicago Bears player Brian Urlacher, Casey Urlacher played in the Arena Football League following his collegiate football career at Lake Forest College. He was also co-owner and manager of several restaurant ventures in the Chicago area prior to entering politics in 2013, and has been involved in commercial real estate development and investment personally as well as during his tenure as mayor.
“There’s a lot of crossover between the world of professional athletics and the restaurant industry, so Casey’s involvement in both those areas is a terrific complement to the strong reputation Englewood already has in restaurant construction and development, particularly our expertise working with fine-dining and sports-based concepts such as the Chicago Sports Museum and Harry Caray’s 7th Inning Stretch,” said Di Santo. “At the same time, his municipal experience and understanding of public affairs and how they can impact a commercial real estate development project, particularly at the onset, will be especially helpful as we advise prospective and new clients.”

Urlacher holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Lake Forest College.
