An investment group including principals of Copaken Brooks and Square Deal Investments purchased the former Kansas City Public LIbrary and Board of Education Building at 1211 McGree St. in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
The deal closed Sept. 12. The investment group purchased the property from Kansas City Public Schools.
The 11-story building, which once also housed the downtown public library, has been vacant since the school district moved to its current location at 2901 Troost in 2016. The property includes 261,800 square feet and a 246-space parking garage on a 2.58-acre site near the Sprint Center and Kansas City’s Power & Light District.
Aaron Mesmer and Matt Levi from Block Real Estate Services represented Kansas City Public Schools in the deal.
