CBRE names managing director for Detroit office

Paul Van Devender has been appointed managing director of CBRE’s Detroit office. Van Devender has more than 17 years of commercial real estate experience, most recently as chief operating officer of CBRE Martin, a CBRE affiliate in Lansing and Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Van Devender has worked with CBRE Martin for the past year. Prior to that position, he was the chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance in New York, where he managed business operations for six offices nationwide. Van Devender had previously served as managing director of the Americas for Capita Symonds, a London-based real estate and infrastructure consulting firm.

Van Devender began his career in the US Air Force, serving as the Crew Chief of Air Force II, overseeing aircraft maintenance to the Vice President, Secretary of State, First Lady and senators and congressmen under the Clinton administration. He is a combat veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
